Isolation is one of the biggest barriers we have to effective practice in rural areas and fulfillment for rural providers. Our basic mission at the Center for Rural Health is to reduce or eliminate that isolation so that rural providers continue to practice in rural areas and rural people have better access to health care. With modern technology and resources, we can go a long way toward doing that. We have the resources of a great hospital, a great medical school and a great university, and we want to share those resources with all the rural communities in the state.
