Who Should Be Tested? |

· Women older than age 65 · Women less than 65 who are menopausal with an additional risk factor. Risk factors are thin (low body weight), poor nutrition, alcohol abuse, smoker, family history of fracture. · If you have one of the following medical conditions: Hyperthyroidism, Cushing’s disease, Irritable bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis · Men older than age 70 · If you have had a non-traumatic fracture · If you are medications that might predispose you to have thinning bones
