If you have a very small, premature baby you may not be able to breast feed right away, but usually can later, just let your baby’s doctor know

If you take illegal medicine, or abuse drugs or medicines you should not breastfeed

If you have to take certain medicines that could harm your baby if you breastfeed. Talk with your doctor about what kinds of medicines these are.
